My Go-To Productivity Tips for a Busy Schedule ⏳

Balancing a 9-5 career in forensic psychology and evening hours in private practice isn’t easy, but a few habits help me stay on top of everything without feeling completely drained:

• Time blocking is key: I schedule my day in chunks, mornings are for prepping for court or sessions, afternoons are for documentation, and evenings are dedicated to private practice.

• Prioritize 3 main tasks a day: I focus on getting 3 non-negotiable things done instead of overwhelming myself with a long to-do list.

• Take real breaks: Even just 10 minutes between jobs makes a huge difference. I use the time to stretch, walk around, or just breathe.

• Keep work organized: I use planners (both digital and paper) to track court dates, client sessions, and deadlines, otherwise it would be chaos.

• Set boundaries: Once I’m done at night, I disconnect from work completely. Which means late-night email checking.

• Prepare the night before: I lay out outfits, prep meals, and check my schedule to avoid any morning stress.

• Remember your ‘why’: It’s easier to stay motivated when I remind myself why I’m doing this, helping others and building the career I want.

Juggling two jobs is no joke, but small habits add up to big results!
