Unpopular opinion about iPads in nursing school.

Okaaaaay let’s really talk! Having an iPad for nursing school = OVERRATED!! I know there are a lot factors. But I really don’t see the need for having one. I do it the old school way, take notes by hand, I have folders, binders, PowerPoints are printed out etc. and I feel like I’m doing soo well with my organizations that I have going on!

I really feel like the only thing that I would benefit from is not having to bring my school supplies and binder(s)

Sooo if your feeling pressured about getting an iPad it’s not necessary. It’s a WANT. and that’s okay

... Read moreIt’s totally understandable to feel the pull towards getting an iPad for nursing school, especially when it seems like everyone else has one, and you see all those aesthetic ipad with apple pencil note taking student setups online! While the original post shares a valid unpopular opinion about why an iPad might be unnecessary for their study style, it’s also true that many nursing students find them incredibly beneficial. It really comes down to personal preference and what works best to keep you organized and focused. For those of you wondering about ipad for nursing school or even best ipad for med school, let's explore how these devices are typically used and what advantages they offer. Many students swear by their iPads for digital note-taking. Apps like GoodNotes or Notability allow you to annotate lecture PowerPoints, transform medical student ipad notes into searchable, organized files, and even create interactive flashcards. Imagine having all your nursing notes ipad accessible from one lightweight device, rather than lugging around heavy binders and printouts. This can be a game-changer for portability, especially when you're moving between classes, clinicals, or study groups. Beyond just note-taking, an iPad can become a central hub for all your study materials. It's fantastic for accessing e-textbooks, medical reference apps, and research articles on the go. You can easily highlight, make comments, and bookmark important sections without marking up physical books. For visual learners, drawing diagrams, anatomy sketches, or flowcharts directly on the screen can enhance understanding in a way that traditional notebooks sometimes can't. While my personal study setup, as seen in the flat lay, includes a physical planner, laptop, and open book alongside some digital tools, an iPad can effectively consolidate many of these. It can display handwritten notes digitally (if you prefer that style but want the benefits of digital storage), manage your schedule, and provide quick access to online resources. The key is to find what helps you learn most efficiently and stay organized throughout your demanding nursing program. If you're considering an iPad, think about how it would integrate with your current study habits and whether the investment aligns with your learning style and budget.

I agree it costs money, but I got my iPad A16 (128GB) on sale for $289, plus a pen from Amazon for $10, and a case with a paper-like screen protector. With tax, it was about $350 total. At first it was frustrating to learn, but it only took me a day. Now I love it like so much! I use Notability to take notes, make quizzes, and even record lectures to summarize later. It’s so much easier than searching through piles of paper. But I again I agree because I been doing old school forever , I just change to iPad lately

I honestly think an iPad is not that useful. It’s a better investment to get a laptop considering that when you take online exams you can not use an iPad
