HOW I SHRUNK MY WAIST (5+ INCHES)

Heyy yall here are some of the things I implemented into my lifestyle that helped me shrink my waist!!

- High Protein Calorie Deficit: Being in a high protein calorie deficit is the KEY to losing weight and more specifically, losing body fat. The Saying “you are what you eat” is very true especially when it comes to weightloss!

- 80/20 rule: This rule basically means that 80% of the time, your diet is consistent with your health goals and the other 20% is more of whatever you want to eat, like “unhealthy”. LMK if yall want a separate post going into detail bc i get a lot of questions on this!!

- Effective Core Workouts: Core strengthening workouts are great to tighten that abdominal region; however without a proper calorie deficit and lower body fat %, you won’t be able to see any abs or shrink that waist.

- Using a Macro Calculator: This is EXTREMELY helpful if you feel lost when it comes to how much you should be consuming a day, this will let you know your daily calorie and protein intake + more to reach your goals. I use the TDEE macro calculator, the link can be found in my bio!

- Effective energy maximizing supplements: Supplements can be a game changer, I use EHPLABS Creatine and Oxyshred daily for more optimal workouts and increased energy. You can find the link in my bio for the exact products I use!!

When I started, I found that prioritizing protein kept me full and helped protect my muscle mass while I was losing fat. Think lean meats, fish, eggs, Greek yogurt, and plant-based options like lentils and tofu. For me, aiming for about 0.8-1 gram of protein per pound of my target body weight worked wonders. To figure out your deficit, I started by tracking my current intake for a week, then slowly reduced it by 300-500 calories, making sure to keep that protein high. It felt sustainable, not like a crash diet. The 80/20 RULE was my sanity saver! It means being consistent with your healthy choices 80% of the time, allowing for some flexibility in the remaining 20%. This really helped me avoid feeling deprived. For example, if I wanted a small dessert after dinner or a slice of pizza with friends on the weekend, I just made sure my meals during the week were on point. It’s all about balance, not perfection. This approach made it so much easier to stick to my goals long-term, because I knew I wasn't completely cutting out my favorite treats. Beyond just knowing that core workouts help, finding effective core workouts was key for me. It's not just about crunches! I incorporated exercises like planks (front and side!), Russian twists, leg raises, and bicycle crunches into my routine. These really target the entire abdominal region, helping to tighten and strengthen the muscles underneath. I aimed for 3-4 sessions a week, focusing on proper form over speed. Remember, these won't burn fat off your waist directly, but they'll sculpt and define once the fat starts coming off from your calorie deficit. There's no magic waist shrinking exercise that spot-reduces fat, but a strong core definitely makes a difference in overall appearance. Using a MACRO CALCULATOR, like the TDEE one I linked, can seem intimidating at first, but it's a game-changer for personalized results. Once you input your details, it gives you target numbers for calories, protein, carbs, and fats. Don't just look at the numbers and forget them! I used an app to log my food for a few weeks, aiming to hit those protein goals especially. This helped me understand portion sizes and what a balanced meal actually looked like for my body and my goals. It took the guesswork out of eating for my body type. And about SUPPLEMENTS – they're not magic pills, but they can definitely give you an edge, especially with energy and recovery for those tough workouts. I found EHPLabs CREA-8 PHARMACEUTICAL GRADE Creatine helped with my strength during lifts, allowing me to push harder. Oxyshred, which is a THERMOGENIC FATS BURNER, gave me that extra boost of energy and focus, especially on days when I felt sluggish.
