Hi, I’m walking 50 km this September with my dog by my side — and I’m doing it i
My dad’s mother died of cancer in 2015. Losing her left a quiet, lasting mark on our family. She was more than a grandmother; she was a steady presence, and her absence is still felt. Cancer took her from us, and like so many families across Canada, we learned how quickly this disease can change everything.
This September, I’m taking on a 50 km walk with my dog as my training partner and constant companion. Every step is for her, and for everyone still fighting. The distance is long, but it feels small compared to what patients and families face every day. I’m walking to honour my grandmother’s memory and to support the research, care, and community programs the Canadian Cancer Society provides.
Cancer affects too many of us. By walking this challenge and raising funds, I hope to help turn loss into action — funding better treatments, supporting people through diagnosis and recovery, and working toward a future where fewer families have to say goodbye too soon.
If you’re able, please consider donating to my fundraising page. Every contribution, no matter the size, helps. Walk with me in spirit, cheer us on, and help make this 50 km count for something bigger.
Thank you for being part of this. If you cannot donate then please share my fundraising link with friends, family or even coworkers every little thing helps.
