Stretches for your chest
Most of my work days rely by sitting down typing on a computer or working on my phone. Due to the nature of repetitive movement my pec muscles tend to get tight. I like to do these stretches on the daily to losen the muscles and relieve any pain. All stretches I do them for 20-30 seconds 3 times. -Get on a door frame. Put your arms up on each side of the door frames press and move slightly forward. - get close of a wall. Put one of your arms up and place your hand on your head. Now rest your bent arm on the wall slowly move your head towards the wall. Do both arms - use your bed or sofa. Lie down facing up and get close to the edge. Let your arm hang and move it from low to high in a half circle motion. Do both arms.

I’ve found that incorporating a consistent stretching routine throughout my workdays has made a huge difference in reducing chest tightness. Using the door frame stretch, I place both arms on the sides of the frame and gently lean forward, holding for 20-30 seconds, repeated three times. This activates and opens up the chest muscles, counteracting the hunched posture caused by sitting. Another favorite is the wall stretch: I put one arm up, rest my bent elbow on the wall, and slowly move my head toward the wall, stretching the shoulder and pec region. Doing this on both sides helps balance muscle tension. I also like to use my bed or sofa edge for an arm hang. Lying on my back with my arm hanging off slowly in a half-circle motion feel very effective to release deep muscle knots. To complement these stretches, I suggest focusing on your breathing — deep inhales and controlled exhales help your muscles relax further during the stretch. Be consistent, and you’ll notice less muscle soreness and improved range of motion over time. Remember, these stretches are simple to do anywhere and don’t require equipment. They have really helped me maintain good posture and prevent the chest tightness that comes from long hours at the desk. Give them a try and adjust the intensity to what feels right for your body.
