Mindfulness vs concentration. What's the difference?
Have you ever wondered why some people meditate so well, but when they encounter a little heart attack, they immediately "explode" 🧨
That's because we're probably just developing power, but we're missing control.
Today, Do Mind will come to distinguish between Concentration and Mindfulness in the simplest way!
🧘♂️ Concentration = Power Bank Accumulation
Imagine that our minds are like mobile phones with low batteries. Meditation is "plugging in the charging cable."
Serves: Stay focused on one thing (such as breath, words of karma) to keep the mind still.
Result: Be calm, relax, have energy, ready to wade.
If absent-mindedness: We may be calm when we close our eyes, but when we remove the charger to the world, the battery runs out quickly.
👀 Mindfulness = Display Screen (Dashboard)
Consciousness is "remembering" what is happening to us now without judging.
Serves: Notice the emotions and thoughts that arise. "Oi! Now we're getting angry," "Oh! Now we're getting stressed."
The result: it makes us see our emotions before we accidentally do something bad, the beginning of emotional intelligence.
If you lose focus: We will know that you are angry, but your heart does not have the strength to stop the emotion, like you know that the car will crash but the brakes will not work!
💡 A short summary to remember.
Concentration is to keep "still."
Consciousness is the act of "knowing."
Concentration is like a "focused camera lens."
Consciousness is like "a cameraman who knows when to press the shutter."
In everyday life, we don't have to sit close our eyes all the time, but we can practice consciousness through movement, work, or listening to the person in front of us, and "concentration" charges the heart with enough strength to fight chaos.
