Chamonix is a resort area where many come here to ski/climb/hike! It’s where the renowned Mont Blanc is found! It borders France, Switzerland and Italy!

How to go there: We arrived in Geneva, Switzerland and took a bus (around 1h 15 mins) and arrived in Chamonix town center!

The town has soooo many hiking products shops like North Face, Patagonia, etc and they even have a morning market on Saturdays!

The view there is amazing! Everyday you wake up to the mountains peaking out, and i would say the best views are when the sun is out but beware of the UV rays!! I got burnt 🥲

We bought a 3 day pass which allows us to take the cable cars/gondolas up to see the different views. We even got to see an ice cave which unfortunately would be gone soon due to global warming

If you’re planning a trip, consider visiting during the weekend to experience the lively Saturday morning market in the town center, where you can find local produce, crafts, and traditional foods. When it comes to outdoor activities, in addition to skiing and climbing, hiking in Chamonix offers trails suitable for all levels, with spectacular views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding peaks. Popular hikes include the Lac Blanc trail known for its stunning alpine lake views and the Grand Balcon Sud, which provides panoramic vistas of the valley below. Transportation is convenient—taking a bus from Geneva airport is a common choice, saving hassle while enjoying scenic drives through the French Alps. Once in town, purchasing a multi-day pass allows easy access to various cable cars and gondolas, such as the Aiguille du Midi, which takes you close to Mont Blanc’s summit, offering breathtaking views. Don’t forget sun protection: The high altitude means stronger UV rays, so sunscreen and sunglasses are essential even on cloudy days. Lastly, a visit to the ice cave is a unique experience that connects visitors to the effects of global warming firsthand, emphasizing the need to cherish and protect these majestic natural wonders.
