Brown Butter Duo Chocolate Chip Cookies

Ingredients:

• 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter

• 1 cup brown sugar (packed)

• 1/2 cup granulated sugar

• 2 large eggs

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

• 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour

• 1 tsp baking soda

• 1/2 tsp salt

• 1/2 cup milk chocolate chips

• 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

• Optional: Flaky sea salt for sprinkling

Instructions:

• In a medium saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Once melted, continue cooking, swirling the pan occasionally, until the butter turns golden brown and has a nutty aroma (about 5-7 minutes). Be careful not to burn it.

• Once browned, remove the butter from heat and transfer it to a heatproof bowl. Let it cool to room temperature.

• Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

• In a large mixing bowl, combine the brown butter and sugars (brown sugar and granulated sugar). Beat them together until smooth and creamy (about 1-2 minutes).

• Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition. Stir in the vanilla extract.

• In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.

• Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.

• Fold in both the milk chocolate and dark chocolate chips.

• For the best texture, cover the dough and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes (up to overnight).

• Once chilled, scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

• Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are golden and the centers are just set. The cookies will continue to firm up as they cool

• Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.

• If desired, sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top of each cookie for an extra touch of flavor.
