Would you call this a life is about balance moment? 😂
To simplify nutrition I tell people to either cut out carbs and increase fats and protein - this is keto.
Or - if you’re keeping carbs in your nutrition, lower your fat intake and use complex carbs wherever possible. Of course, have a good portion of protein with every meal with this option as well.
Pick one option and stick to it. You’ll thank me later.
Snooze was great but just remember, when we eat out, controlling the total calories is going to be a challenge, so just know what you’re getting into and - be ok with it :)
Not a paid partnership with anyone…ever.

From my personal experience, adopting a straightforward approach to nutrition really makes a difference in sustaining healthy habits. When I started focusing either on a keto lifestyle—cutting out carbs and increasing fats and protein—or on a balanced diet that reduces fat but emphasizes complex carbohydrates and adequate protein, I found it much easier to maintain consistency and see results. Eating out can disrupt even the best meal plans, as controlling calories becomes tricky with menu temptations like pancakes, toast, or avocado dishes. For example, Snooze, a popular breakfast spot, offers delicious options such as omelets and Denver hash, but the calorie content can surprise you. I learned to embrace mindful choices there—maybe opting for avocado for healthy fats or going easy on sides like pancakes which are often high in sugar and calories. Understanding the nutritional composition—like keeping an eye on cholesterol and sodium levels—and being okay with occasional indulgence keeps both physical health and mental satisfaction in balance. If you prefer keto, watch your fat sources and protein portions carefully, while those including carbs should prioritize complex carbs to maintain stable insulin levels and energy. Ultimately, the key is to pick one approach that fits your lifestyle and stick to it without guilt. Consistency, rather than perfection, leads to sustainable progress. These days, I find that planning meals ahead and knowing what to expect from dining out helps me enjoy food while keeping my nutrition goals intact.
