Feminine care to avoid for vaginal health

A lot of feminine care contains ingredients that are harmful to vaginal health (ironically)!!

I'll be sharing more helpful vaginal health tips & stories for the #HealthTips campaign from 4/18 - 5/18! Follow along and share your health tips during this campaign for a chance to win a MacBook, iPad, or an Air Purifier!

The number one thing I avoid for feminine care is fragrance — it contains undisclosed chemicals that are common irritants & pH disruptors.

good hygiene doesn’t mean you need feminine washes or sprays.

Shower regularly and wash with warm water & gentle soap if needed!

Hope this helps xx

... Read moreWhen it comes to maintaining vaginal health, many conventional feminine care products can do more harm than good. One of the biggest culprits is fragrance, often found in a wide array of products including wipes, washes, and sprays. These synthetic fragrances can not only irritate sensitive skin but also disrupt your vaginal pH balance, leading to discomfort and infections. Instead of relying on scented washes or sprays, it is important to understand that the vagina is self-cleaning. Regularly showering with warm water and using a gentle, fragrance-free soap can suffice for maintaining cleanliness without the need for harsh chemicals. Studies have shown that many popular feminine hygiene products are unnecessary and may contribute to a host of problems, particularly those that contain douches or antibacterial agents. Moreover, many women are unaware that products containing certain chemicals can lead to irritation and worsening odor rather than providing relief. Brands like Vagisil and Summer's Eve have been under scrutiny for their potential negative impacts on vaginal health. Instead, consider alternatives such as boric acid suppositories, which some studies suggest may effectively combat infections while being gentler on the vaginal flora. It’s vital to educate yourself about what goes into your body. Always check labels for ingredients that may be harmful or irritating. By choosing pH-balanced and hypoallergenic products, you can safeguard your health. Above all, remember to listen to your body and consult healthcare professionals if you have concerns about your vaginal care routine.
