Truth behind chronic yeast and BV infections
This is coming from someone who had them for 4 years straight!!
1) Imbalanced hormones or birth control. Hormones like estrogen and progesterone flucate throughout our cycle and these hormones change our vaginal pH which affects the good bacteria in our vagina. So you’re more likely to get BV or yeast infections at different points during your cycle due to these fluctuations
SO if your hormones are imbalanced or you’re ok birth control then your hormone levels are higher or lower then they should be then they can create more drastic changes in pH and infections.
2) stress! when we’re chronically stressed, hormones like cortisol wreck our gut lining and gut microbiome diversity which is connected to our vaginal microbiome. Plus high levels of cortisol imbalance our hormones which goes back to what we just talked about before! So we be mindful, take time for yourself and chill tf out.
3) you took antibiotics: antibiotics get rid of infections caused by bad bacteria which is incredible BUT antibiotics also wipe out your good gut and vaginal bacteria which is critical to your microbiomes. This leaves your gut and vaginal microbiome susceptible to overgrowths of yeast and bad bacteria which can turn into a chronic infection cycle so make sure to take probiotics!!
4) your diet is causing inflammation in your gut which is directly connected to our vaginal health. Diets high in ultra processed, refined sugar, fried, fast food, candy, pastries, highly preserved food can cause digestive destress and inflammation which leads to poor gut health which can lead to poor vaginal health & infections. Personally, changing what I ate is what lead me to heal after 3 years!
Changing my lifestyle is what ultimately lead me to healing these infections! Hope this helps 🫶🏻
