... Read moreSourdough cinnamon rolls have become a popular baking trend, allowing home bakers to make the most of their sourdough starter discard. These rolls are not only delicious but also a great way to reduce waste in your kitchen. Incorporating sourdough discard enhances the flavor and texture of the dough, giving it a unique tang that contrasts beautifully with the sweetness of the cinnamon sugar filling. In this recipe, you’ll blend flour, sugar, baking soda, and butter to create the dough, followed by adding the sourdough discard along with milk and an egg, ensuring a moist and delightful outcome. After rolling out the dough, the generous addition of butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon creates a rich filling. The rolls should be baked until golden brown and then topped with a luscious cream cheese frosting, which adds a creamy finish that ties all the flavors together. For those looking to experiment, you can customize your filling with nuts or other spices, allowing for endless variations. These rolls not only make a wonderful breakfast treat but also a delightful dessert option. Whether enjoyed fresh out of the oven or reheated for a later treat, sourdough cinnamon rolls are sure to satisfy any sweet tooth while minimizing waste in your baking endeavors.
