Deep-fried foods are among the hardest to tolerate—they tend to linger in the stomach longer and often amplify nausea or acid reflux, making digestion uncomfortable. It’s wise to avoid fried items such as French fries, fried chicken, or anything heavily battered.
Heavy cream-based sauces are another trigger. Their high fat content makes digestion tougher, increasing feelings of heaviness and sometimes causing digestive distress. Opting for lighter sauces or simple dressings helps in balancing the meal without overloading your digestive system.
Additionally, I found that guessing what foods trigger symptoms can be frustrating. That’s why tracking your GLP-1 shots alongside your intake of protein and fiber can provide clarity. Maintaining a balanced meal with adequate protein and fiber supports digestion and keeps you consistent without the guesswork. For example, a meal with around 370 calories, 38 grams of protein, and 7 grams of fiber works well for me.
By focusing on these dietary choices and keeping a detailed record of your meals and medication, you can better manage side effects and fully reap the benefits of your GLP-1 treatment. Remember, everyone’s body reacts differently, so personalization and monitoring are key to a comfortable, effective weight loss journey.
