This is a super easy and healthy appetizer or snack! You can place this on salad and add chicken or just have it by itself. The best thing about this dish is it only takes about 10 minutes to make!!
Ingredients:
• Sourdough
• Snack sized Mozzarella balls (fresh)
• Burrata
• Grape Tomatoes
• Balsamic
• Salt, Pepper, Garlic,and Oregano
Cooking Instructions:
1. Start oven at 350.
2. While the oven is preheating, start prepping your pan. Take two slices of sourdough and pull the slices into crouton sized pieces. Spread the sourdough pieces over your pan.

7. After the 5 min timer has gone off, take your pan out and add your tomatoes, oregano, and burrata(break the burrata apart and distribute around the pan)
8. Place that back in the oven and set it on the low broiler setting for about 2-4 minutes.
9. Then finally, take it out of the oven and put your balsamic glaze on top and enjoy!!
... Read moreOkay, so you've whipped up that amazing 10-minute burrata and balsamic glaze appetizer, right? It's seriously one of my go-to recipes when I need something delicious and quick! But let's dive a little deeper into why burrata is such a star and how you can take this easy appetizer to the next level.
First off, what even is burrata? If you're new to it, you're in for a treat! Think of it as mozzarella's creamier, more luxurious cousin. The outside is a solid shell of fresh mozzarella, but the inside is filled with a soft, stringy mixture of curds and cream, called stracciatella. When you cut into it, that glorious creamy center just oozes out – pure bliss! It’s milder and richer than traditional mozzarella, which makes it perfect for pairing with vibrant flavors like sweet tomatoes and tangy balsamic. I always look for fresh burrata in the specialty cheese section of my grocery store; the fresher, the better for that incredible texture.
Now, about balsamic glaze. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out on a serious flavor booster! It's basically balsamic vinegar that's been reduced until it's thick and syrupy, concentrating its sweet and tart notes. It adds a beautiful sheen and a sophisticated touch to dishes. You can totally buy store-bought balsamic glaze (it's super convenient!), but if you have 10-15 minutes, making your own is surprisingly simple. Just simmer regular balsamic vinegar in a small saucepan over medium-low heat until it reduces by about half and coats the back of a spoon. Let it cool, and it will thicken even further. The homemade version often tastes even better, and you can control the sweetness! This sweet-tangy glaze is naturally the perfect partner for the rich, creamy burrata – they just balance each other out so well.
Ready to get creative with your burrata and balsamic glaze? While the tomato version is a classic easy appetizer, there are so many ways to customize it!
Seasonal Swaps: Instead of grape tomatoes, try roasted cherry tomatoes for a deeper flavor, or in the summer, fresh sliced peaches or figs with a drizzle of honey are divine. Roasted bell peppers or grilled asparagus also make fantastic additions.
Herb Power-Up: Don't stop at oregano! Fresh basil leaves are a natural complement to burrata and tomatoes, or try a sprinkle of fresh mint for a surprising twist.
Crunch Factor: If you're out of sourdough, serve your burrata with crispy bruschetta, artisanal crackers, or even some thinly sliced cucumbers for a gluten-free option.
Make it a Meal: This burrata dish isn't just an easy appetizer; it can totally be a light meal! Serve it over a bed of mixed greens with some grilled chicken or prosciutto for added protein. It also makes an incredible topping for a simple pasta dish or homemade pizza.
One last tip: always let your burrata come to room temperature for about 15-20 minutes before serving. This really enhances its creamy texture and flavor. And don't be shy with that balsamic glaze – a generous drizzle makes all the difference! Enjoy experimenting and making this delicious burrata creation your own!
