Spelt flour buns

I wanted to bake something with this spelt flour I got from a too good to go and decided to make these cute and tasty buns.

Ingredients:

2 cups spelt flour

1 packet rapid-rise yeast ( 2 1/4 tsp )

2 Tbsp sugar

1/2 tsp salt

1/2 cup almond milk

1/4 cup water

2 Tbsp olive oil

Directions:

First I mixed 1 cup of the spelt flour with the yeast, sugar and salt. Next I warmed up the almond milk and water in the microwave. I blended the wet and dry ingredients together. I slowly added 1/4 cup of spelt flour and mixed it in and repeated the process till I used all 2 cups. I kneaded it for 1-2 minutes and covered it for 20 minutes.

Next I grabbed small balls of dough and rolled them around and placed them in my baking dish. Once all the dough has been rolled up and placed I covered them and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour.

I cooked them at 375 degrees for about 20 minutes and they had turned golden brown.

I think these came out really delicious, I immediately split one and put some noir nocilla which is similar to vegan Nutella. 🤤
