Spicy Stir-Fried Octopus (Nakji Bokkeum) Recipe 🐙

Ingredients

For the paste:

- 3 t/s gochujang (Korean chili paste)

- 3 t/s gochugaru (Korean chili powder)

- 1 t/s soy sauce

- 1 t/s minced garlic

- 1 tsp sugar

- 1/3 tsp ginger paste

- A little black pepper

- 1/2 zucchini

- Some mushrooms

- 1/2 onion

- Olive oil

– Hot chili oil

- Chopped octopus

- Shrimp

- Cooking wine

- Sesame oil

Instructions

1. Olive oil → add hot chili oil → add veggies (onions & zucchini)

2. Sauté for 5 min → take veggies out and set aside

3. In the same pan, add chopped octopus & shrimp

4. Add 2 tsp soy sauce + 2 tsp cooking wine

5. Cook on high heat for 5 min until the color changes slightly → take octopus & shrimp out

6. In the remaining sauce in the pan → add pre-made paste

7. Add veggies back → add octopus, shrimp & mushrooms

8. Mix well so octopus & shrimp absorb the sauce

9. Cook ~5 min → add more chili powder if you like it spicy

10. Turn off heat → finish with sesame oil
