💦Listen quickly and be slow to anger 📖🙏🕊️❤️‍🔥

Some relationships don’t end…

they slowly go silent.

Less talking.

Less laughing.

More distance.

You’re still together… but it doesn’t feel the same anymore.

That’s what happens when small issues go unhealed and God isn’t invited in.

James 1:19 — “Be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.”

When God leads, hearts soften. Conversations heal.

4/26 Edited to

... Read moreIn many relationships, it’s easy to let small irritations build up and create a growing silence between partners. I’ve personally experienced times when less talking and less laughing slowly replaced the warmth we once had, leaving an emotional distance that felt difficult to bridge. What helped me was reflecting on the wisdom of James 1:19: “Be quick to listen, slow to speak, and slow to become angry.” From my experience, actively choosing to listen with empathy helped me understand my partner’s perspective instead of reacting impulsively. It required patience and self-control—sometimes taking a step back before responding to avoid hurtful words said in anger. Incorporating prayer and inviting God into our daily struggles also softened our hearts, bringing clarity and healing to conversations that might otherwise escalate. This approach doesn’t just mend conflicts; it fosters a deeper connection by nurturing mutual respect and love. Rather than allowing silence to grow as a symptom of unresolved issues, practicing quick listening and slow anger can revive meaningful dialogue and connection. My hope is that others facing similar struggles find strength in these principles, embracing divine guidance as a way to reconnect and strengthen their relationships over time.

Women are often taught that anger means something is wrong. That we’re being emotional. Overreacting. Dysregulated. But anger is actually a boundary emotion. It shows up when something inside you recognizes that a line has been crossed… or that something in your life needs to change.
