These Thai-inspired beef lettuce wraps are a perfect and satisfying dinner. They are incredibly fast to make, and flavorful enough that the whole family will enjoy them.

By using the "veggie volume" trick and fresh herbs from your garden, you get a massive, satisfying portion for very few calories.

Thai Basil Beef Lettuce Wraps 🥬

Prep time: 10 mins

Cook time: 10 mins

What you’ll need:

* 1 lb Ground Beef

* 1 cup Mushrooms, very finely diced (to add volume and "meatiness")

* 3 cloves Garlic, minced

* 1 large handful Fresh Basil

* 2 tbsp Maggi seasoning

* 1 tsp Fish Sauce (optional, for that authentic "umami" punch)

* 1 tbsp water

* Large Lettuce Leaves (Bibb, Butter, or Romaine work best as "cups")

Preparation Steps:

* Brown the Beef & Mushrooms: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef and diced mushrooms together. The mushrooms will release moisture and blend perfectly with the beef.

* Drain the Fat: Once the beef is browned, tilt the pan and spoon out any rendered fat (the "fat-flush" technique).

* Add Aromatics: Stir in the minced garlic. Sauté for 1–2 minutes until fragrant.

* Season: Pour in the seasoning sauce and fish sauce. Stir well to coat the meat and let it sizzle for a minute to caramelize slightly.

* The Basil Finish: Turn off the heat and toss in the fresh basil leaves. Stir until they are just wilted. This keeps the flavor bright and fresh.
