Prepare for the iPhone 18 Pro Impact with a new camera feature that could cost us extra money.
Imagine that after we were willing to pay more expensively at the launch of the iPhone 17 series, when there was an expensive part-price crisis like the RAMPocalypse, but the sales were gushing. If there was anything that would drive up costs, could we still fight the price?
Now, there's a lot of buzz that the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max might be wearing adjustable aperture technology or Variable Aperture into the rear camera. That sounds really cool and extreme, right? But wait, think about whether we really need it.
When it comes to practical use, the mobile camera sensor is small, even if the aperture is so wide, most of the images are still clear and almost focused. Narrowing the aperture in the mobile can hardly see the difference as in a big pro camera with a much larger sensor size, which today uses clear-face software to blur the back until the eyes are smooth.
The people who really benefit from this feature should only have a video line that needs to control the lighting in bright places, but the question is, is it worth it if the feature requires Apple to put more hardware, more moving parts, more complex systems, and finally the cost falls on the price of the machine we pay?
If you're gonna have to upgrade your hardware and push the price up, isn't it better to put that space in a one-inch sensor, vibrate the gods, or expand the battery to be tougher?
Now, I'm hoping that Apple won't miss the game, put more than necessary features into the ceiling, and fight the real stream to release the anniversary of the 2027 iPhone model, so it's better. Everyone thinks it's more expensive to pay for an adjustable aperture or want a battery.
