Devastated 😢
On Sunday night my granddaughter Rylie caught a lightning bug and put it in the cookie container she’s clinging to in the above photos. Sunday night and all day Monday she carried it around enamored with the little bug. She put some crumbs in the container for food and poked holes in it for air. Well she’d gone out with her mother on Monday night and forgot her new pet in the hot car overnight. She got into the car yesterday and found that her pet lightning bug had stopped living. She was devastated and heartbroken. She cried for about 20 minutes. I told my daughter she may be ready for a pet fish.

Update Since this happened she’s found a cricket, a lizard and a turtle. She’s recovered and has moved on @Lemon8 followers
