Yogurt with stewed apples & granola 🍎

I loveeee stewed apples! Best part is that it contains lots of fiber, which we all could really benefit from. Below are steps on how to make:

1) Start by washing an apple and chopping into small pieces.

2) Add the apples into a pot & add as much cinnamon as you’d like!

3) Optional: you can add a little bit of sugar or honey to make the stewed apples a bit sweeter. 🍯

4) Place lid on pot and allow the apples to cook at low heat.

5) Once the apples are cooked to your liking, turn the heat off.

6) Prepare your yogurt bowl by filling with Greek yogurt (or your preferred yogurt) & add a couple spoonfuls of the stewed apples.

7) Top with granola and you’re done.

Enjoy!

The high fiber content in apples promotes better digestion and keeps you feeling full longer, which is great for maintaining energy throughout the morning. When making stewed cinnamon apples, using low heat is key to gently soften the fruit without turning it into mush, preserving texture and flavor. Adding cinnamon not only enhances the taste but also brings anti-inflammatory benefits and helps regulate blood sugar levels. For those who prefer a bit more sweetness, natural sweeteners like honey or a small amount of sugar work well, but the natural sugars in the apples often suffice. Choosing Greek yogurt as the base adds a boost of protein and probiotics, which support gut health. If you’re dairy-free, you can easily substitute with plant-based yogurts like almond or coconut to maintain creaminess. Topping this yogurt and stewed apple mix with granola adds a satisfying crunch and extra fiber, making it a balanced meal. You can customize your granola with nuts, seeds, or dried fruits to add variety and nutrients. I often prepare this combination the night before for a quick, wholesome breakfast that saves me time during busy mornings. It’s also a comforting snack on cold days, perfect to enjoy with a warm cup of tea. Experimenting with different apple varieties can bring unique flavors—from tart Granny Smith to sweeter Fuji apples, each adds its own character to the dish. Overall, this yogurt with stewed cinnamon apples and granola is a versatile, tasty, and healthful way to start your day, packed with natural ingredients that nourish your body and delight your taste buds.
