The Golden Hour Oreo S'mores Stack
Ingredients
For the Pancake Batter:
All-purpose flour: 2 cups
Sugar: 3 tbsp
Baking powder: 2 tsp
Baking soda: 1/2 tsp
Salt: 1/2 tsp
Buttermilk: 1.5 cups (makes them extra fluffy)
Eggs: 2 large
Unsalted butter: 4 tbsp (melted and slightly cooled)
Vanilla extract: 1 tsp
Golden Oreos: 8–10 cookies, roughly chopped (plus extra for topping)
For the S'mores Fillings & Toppings:
Chocolate hazelnut spread (like Nutella) OR hot fudge sauce: 1 cup, warmed for easy drizzling
Mini marshmallows: 1 cup (for between the layers)
Large marshmallows: 4–6 (for torching/skewering on top)
Golden Oreos: 4–5 whole cookies for decoration and extra crushing
Instructions
1. Make the Fluffy Pancake Batter
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
In a separate bowl, whisk the buttermilk, eggs, melted butter, and vanilla extract.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently with a spatula just until combined (a few lumps are totally fine—don't overmix!).
Gently fold in the chopped Golden Oreo pieces.
2. Cook the Pancakes
Heat a large non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly coat with butter or cooking spray.
Pour about 1/3 cup of batter onto the griddle for each pancake.
Cook until bubbles form on the surface and the edges look set (about 2–3 minutes). Flip and cook the other side until golden brown (another 1–2 minutes). Keep warm.
3. Build the Ultimate S'mores Stack
To recreate the towering look of the photo, assemble your stack while the pancakes are still hot so the interior marshmallows get nice and melty:
Layer 1: Place a pancake on your serving plate. Drizzle with a swirl of warm chocolate sauce and scatter a handful of mini marshmallows and crushed Golden Oreos on top.
Layers 2 to 5: Repeat the process, stacking the pancakes and layering chocolate, mini marshmallows, and cookie bits between each one.
4. Create the Showstopping Topping
The Skewer: Thread 2 large marshmallows onto a small bamboo skewer, placing a whole Golden Oreo between them, just like in the picture. Rest it on top of the stack.
The Toast: If you have a kitchen blowtorch, gently toast the marshmallows on top until they are beautifully charred and gooey. (Alternatively, you can pop a couple of large marshmallows under your oven broiler on a piece of foil for 30–60 seconds before sliding them onto the stack).
The Final Touch: Drizzle a generous amount of chocolate sauce over the entire crown, let it cascade down the sides, and scatter a few final crushed Oreos around the plate.
