🍰 Ingredients:

For the Cake:

    •    1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

    •    ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

    •    1 ½ tsp baking powder

    •    1 ½ tsp baking soda

    •    ½ tsp salt

    •    2 cups sugar

    •    2 eggs

    •    1 cup buttermilk

    •    ½ cup vegetable oil

    •    2 tsp vanilla extract

    •    1 cup hot water or coffee (makes it extra rich!)

For the Frosting:

    •    1 cup unsalted butter, softened

    •    3 cups powdered sugar

    •    ½ cup crushed Oreos (about 6 cookies)

    •    3 tbsp heavy cream or milk

    •    1 tsp vanilla extract

    •    Pinch of salt

Optional Topping:

    •    Extra crushed Oreos

    •    Chocolate ganache drizzle

    •    Whole Oreos for garnish

    1.    Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line two 8-inch round cake pans.

    2.    In a bowl, whisk flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

    3.    In another large bowl, beat sugar, eggs, buttermilk, oil, and vanilla until smooth.

    4.    Add dry ingredients, then slowly mix in hot water or coffee until combined.

    5.    Divide batter evenly between pans and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.

    6.    Cool completely before frosting.

    7.    For the frosting, beat butter until fluffy, then add powdered sugar, vanilla, cream, salt, and finally fold in crushed Oreos.

    8.    Frost the cooled cakes, stack, and top with more Oreos and chocolate drizzle. 🍫
