these health habits had me GAINING weight…
DOWN HERE 👇🏼
i was eating “clean.”
skipping the sugar.
saying no to drunk pizza orders.
walking 10k steps a day.
taking 2 HIIT classes a day.
and still…
my face looked puffy.
my body felt inflamed.
and i didn’t even recognize myself in photos.
i kept spiraling wondering WHAT i could possibly be doing wrong 😵💫😩
because from the outside, it looked like i was doing everything right…
but here’s what no one told me:
✨ overdoing caffeine + under-eating carbs
✨ over-exercising & putting my body under constant stress without giving it time to recover
✨ living on protein bars, vegan protein substitutes & vegetables because i thought that was “healthy”
✨ never taking rest days
✨ constantly feeling guilty or mad at myself if i ate something i thought was “bad”
✨ always feeling bloated, puffy, tired & annoyed…
i didn’t need MORE discipline.
i needed someone to actually teach me how to properly take care of myself !!!!!
NOWWWWWW 🧚🏼♀️
✨ i eat way more & look much leaner
✨ i have SO much more energy without relying on excessive caffeine
✨ i stick to one coffee early in the morning ONLY
✨ i actually take rest days
✨ i feel so good in my body without overthinking food, exercise & my body 24/7
i’m not constantly trying to “fix” myself anymore… if you’re reading this thinking “wait… this is literally me”
i PROMISE you’re not alone !!!!!!!
you’re not lazy. you don’t need to try harder. you might just be stuck in a cycle where you’ve been taught that MORE = better.
when in reality you just need to learn how to do LESS better…
you deserve to feel confident in your body AND your routine without constantly being at war with yourself 🥹

From my own journey, I learned that many so-called healthy habits can unintentionally backfire when done to excess or without balance. Overconsumption of caffeine, for example, can trigger stress hormones that contribute to water retention and inflammation, leaving you feeling puffy instead of lean. Pairing this with eating too few carbohydrates deprives your body of essential fuel, which actually slows metabolism and hampers recovery. I also found that relying heavily on protein bars and vegan protein substitutes while skipping more balanced meals resulted in nutritional gaps and chronic fatigue. The body needs a good mix of macronutrients and micronutrients, including healthy fats and ample fruits and vegetables, to function optimally. Exercise-wise, doing multiple high-intensity interval training (HIIT) sessions daily without adequate rest created a state of constant stress. This prevented my muscles from repairing and growing lean tissue, and increased inflammation. Rest days are not a sign of weakness—they’re crucial for sustainable fat loss and overall health. The mental toll was just as important. Feeling guilty about food choices and obsessing over every meal contributed to stress and disordered eating patterns. What helped me was shifting my mindset towards caring for my body with kindness and patience, rather than trying to "fix" it through extremes. If you resonate with the feeling of doing "everything right" yet still struggling with inflammation, puffiness, or weight gain, know that you’re not alone. Balancing nutrition, reducing caffeine intake, incorporating rest days, and adopting a compassionate approach to your habits can transform how you look and feel. In essence, learning to do LESS but do it better—not more—is what helped me regain energy, look leaner, and finally break free from the cycle of frustration. Remember, sustainable health is a journey of balance, not perfection.
