The first & last time I’ll be a Cat Mom-Storytime
Titan was a gifted to me at 6 weeks old by an old friend and was exactly what I need in my life at the time of the Pandemic. I’ve always liked cats but I never got to live with one. So, when he popped into my life. I was so ecstatic but hestitant because of my inexperience and lack of resources at the time.
He was spunky, curious and very intelligent. He hated bathes and nail trims but loved to zoom around and wrestle. Unfortunately, he was afflicted with urinary tract issues since birth. Despite it all I stuck with him.
Unfortunately, last November at 2 years old he had to be put down because I couldn’t afford to pay for a surgery that had a 50 % chance of saving him. (Check posts of my moving story) Outrageous.
It was a heartbreaking. I’ve dealt with grief before but nothing like this. In my eyes that was my baby. My son. He was legally my emotional support animal. I might as well have birthed him myself. It was too much too soon. I don’t see myself having any pets at all or at least anytime soon. I don’t see how people just replace them so quickly. It’s just not in me.
Maybe when I can afford a random 4k veterinarian emergency hospital bill then sure. Till then, nah. I’ll stick to being a rich cat auntie and watching cat videos on youtube.
