2b bike license 4.01 (First Attempt)

Hello fellow 2b aspirants!

I managed to clear 4.01 in one go thankfully 😮‍💨 with that, im finally almost to the half way point of this journey and i can’t wait for this to be over 🙏

For this lesson, the crank course and S-course was really fun! At first, I was pretty nervous since i’ve seen so many tiktok videos of others re taking the test for their third or forth time which got my anxiety up real high but i just told myself to go for it and try either way.

For some reason, the bike i used was responsive. A bit too responsive and i stalled the bike multiple times cus i was so used to all the other bikes having more free play with the clutch and brake so that was q embarrassing for me 😅 other than that the lesson went pretty smooth!

For the S-course, my first attempt was abit shaky since i was afraid to throttle up, maintain and use the rear brake but after my second and third try it got better. Shaved my timing down from 10.9 to 9.5 seconds which was already really good for me thankfully.

For the crank course, i struggled i can’t lie. Especially at the end when you’re supposed to make the hard left turn into the left side of the lane, forgot to cancel my signal once i was inside the bend and hit the curb once. But i managed it eventually so I’m pretty thankful 🙏

Tips for S-course:

at the beginning, signal left and wait for the bike to exit the course. Then, throttle up to 6000 rpm and kick up to gear 2 so that the speed carries you into the course. Make sure to use your rear brake a lot to manage that speed. If you’re feeling brave enough, look at the exits ahead of you so that the turn feels better. If not, looking half a circle or just before the exits helps with balance as well! At the end of the course, if theres no cars coming into the lane. Use the momentum and roll the bike out and check left blind spot before crank course segment.

Tips for crank course:

signal right and wait for the bike to exit the course, when the other bike has left the course or if there is no bike at the end point. Throttle up and kick up to gear 2 using the momentum of the bike to enter the course, inside the course cancel signal and throttle up slightly to get more speed to exit the course. If a vehicle is in the lane, stop and signal left if not, use the momentum of the bike to make a hard left out of the course and to the left side of the road.

So thats about it for 4.01! Im excited to reach the halfway mark of the journey and cant wait to get this over and done with 🙏🤧

Thanks for reading!

... Read moreIf you're preparing for the BBDC 2B bike license test, especially lesson 4.01, you'll find that practicing on a responsive bike can really change your riding feel. Personally, I was surprised by how sensitive the bike's clutch and throttle were compared to what I was used to, which caused a few stalls at first. I recommend spending extra time getting comfortable with the clutch control on the test bike before taking your exam. Another useful tip is to focus on your lines through the S-course and crank course. For the S-course, maintaining steady throttle and using the rear brake helps control your speed and balance. I noticed that looking slightly ahead towards the course exit, rather than directly down, improved my confidence and cornering. On the crank course, remember to cancel your turn signal after entering the bend to avoid any deductions. Timing your throttle and gear changes to maintain momentum is crucial to completing the course cleanly. Don't be discouraged if you initially hit the curb; persistence pays off! From my experience, it's also important to keep calm, especially if you see others retaking multiple times. I found that focusing on my own approach and visualizing success helped reduce anxiety. Lastly, if you get the chance, observe others taking the test—it gives you a good sense of the course flow and pacing. Good luck, and I hope my insights help you pass your BBDC 2B bike test the first time around!
