Autumn is the perfect season to indulge in the warm, comforting aroma of freshly baked cinnamon rolls. This recipe is ideal for both beginners and experienced bakers, offering a straightforward approach to creating soft, fluffy rolls with a generously spiced cinnamon filling. When preparing the dough, using instant dry yeast allows for a quicker rise, but be sure to dissolve it in the slightly cooled milk and butter mixture to activate it without killing the yeast. Kneading is key; a good 3-minute knead on a floured surface develops the gluten, giving the rolls their tender yet structured texture. For the cinnamon filling, balancing the brown sugar and cinnamon is essential to achieving that classic sweetness and spice. Spread the softened butter evenly over the rolled-out dough, then distribute the cinnamon mixture thoroughly to ensure every bite is flavorful. Rolling the dough tightly helps create distinct spiral layers that bake into beautiful cinnamon swirls. Letting the rolls rest for 90 minutes in a greased pan before baking is crucial for achieving the perfect rise and a light, airy texture. Bake them at 375°F and watch for that golden-brown color on top. To elevate your cinnamon rolls, consider adding a simple glaze made from powdered sugar and warm milk once they are slightly cooled, adding an extra touch of sweetness and shine. This recipe fits perfectly within the #fallbaking trend and is a heartwarming treat to share with family and friends during the cooler months. Incorporate seasonal toppings like chopped nuts or dried fruits to customize your rolls for added texture and flavor. With just a handful of pantry staples like all-purpose flour, sugar, eggs, and butter, you can fill your kitchen with the delightful scent of baking and enjoy a delicious homemade pastry any time during the fall season.
