Cici’s Spaghetti And Meatball Pizza…(TERRIBLE🤢)
I've always been intrigued by the wilder side of pizza, but my recent adventure trying Cici's Spaghetti and Meatball Pizza definitely pushed the boundaries – and not in a good way. Like many curious foodies, I saw it on the buffet line and thought, "Could this actually work?" The answer, after a single bite, was a resounding, stomach-churning no. From the moment I picked up a slice, I had a bad feeling. The spaghetti strands, instead of being neatly integrated, sat somewhat limply on top of what looked like a thin layer of tomato sauce, interspersed with small, pale meatballs. The cheese, barely visible, seemed to be fighting a losing battle to hold everything together. My first bite confirmed my fears: it was a textural nightmare. The spaghetti was soft and mushy, completely lacking the al dente bite you'd expect. It felt starchy and out of place on a pizza crust, which itself was thin and somewhat soggy from the moisture of the pasta. The flavor profile was equally disjointed. The tomato sauce tasted overly sweet, clashing with the bland, underseasoned meatballs. There was no harmonious blend of Italian flavors; just a confused medley of separate components that refused to cooperate. It felt like someone had taken leftover spaghetti and meatballs and simply dumped them onto a pizza base, hoping for the best. The robust, savory notes you crave in both a good pizza and a classic spaghetti dish were completely absent. It left me wondering, 'What's the point?' While this particular pizza was a colossal misstep in my personal Cici's journey, I do want to offer some perspective for anyone looking for a general Cici's review. Cici's is known for its all-you-can-eat buffet, offering a wide variety of pizzas, pasta, salad, and desserts at a budget-friendly price point. It's often a go-to for families or groups looking for a casual, affordable meal. You can usually find classic pepperoni, supreme, and even their famous dessert pizzas (like the cinnamon rolls or apple pie pizza), which tend to be crowd-pleasers. My advice for navigating a Cici's buffet, especially if you're a first-timer, is to stick to the tried-and-true favorites. Don't be afraid to ask for a fresh pie of your favorite if it's not immediately available. Their traditional pizzas are generally reliable, and the salad bar, while simple, offers a refreshing contrast. And definitely save room for the dessert pizzas – they're often the highlight. While the Spaghetti and Meatball Pizza was a memorable (for all the wrong reasons) experiment, it doesn't define the entire Cici's experience. Just proceed with caution when venturing into their more unconventional offerings. For me, this particular pizza will remain a cautionary tale in my food review chronicles.
