Sweet & Spicy Rice Bowls

How would you like it prepared, spicy or sweet? These four rice bowls can be made either way! Butter chicken is a dish thats warm and savory with a tomato base so it's easy to spice it up or sweeten it up with 1 or 2 extra spices. Sticky sesame beef has a sweet and earthy taste because of the sesame seeds. But with some added peppers it could easily become a sweet meal with some sneaky heat. Now orange chicken is a classic. It's orange taste, already naturally sweet, mixed with a little red chilli flake could spice things up very nicely. And lastly the Mongolian beef is already supposed to be spicy, but sweeten it up with sweet peppers instead. Which would you prefer spicy or sweet?

It’s a great way to get that sweet-and-spicy combo that tastes like restaurant quality but is so simple to prepare at home. Mongolian beef usually leans towards the spicy side, but substituting sweet bell peppers in place of hotter peppers can completely transform the dish into a sweeter profile. Adding caramelized onions enhances the sweetness further, making it perfect for anyone who prefers milder dishes. One tip I recommend is cooking the rice separately to maintain its texture and prevent it from becoming mushy, especially when pairing with these richly flavored meats. Using basmati rice adds a fragrant aroma that complements the spices beautifully. Overall, these versatile rice bowls offer endless possibilities to suit your taste preferences.
