everything but linear✨

a product of my noisy mind during an unpredictable time…

journaling and meditation are two practices that made ‘everything but linear’ possible.

meditation helps me regulate all the noise in my head that gets in the way of me reaching a creative safe space.

journaling is the release. a way to set down the weight of my thoughts in a way that doesn’t have to be perfect or pretty.

from there, my first poetry book was born.

a process of sorting through journal entries and reflecting on the places and versions of myself that I’ve been.

an opportunity to make things a little more cohesive and direct, while still keeping the raw an vulnerable pieces of me.

a meditation of creating something meaningful from the weight and noise.

my hope during this mental health awareness month and on world meditation day is that you find a safe space in my words🤍

biiig thank you to jessica skye on apple fitness+ for making meditation approachable and for carrying me through some of my hardest days💐

... Read moreDuring challenging times, I found that combining meditation and journaling created a powerful outlet for my thoughts and emotions. Meditation served as a way to quiet the overwhelming noise in my mind, allowing me to enter a creative safe space where clarity could emerge. Through regular practice, I noticed how calming my breath and focusing my attention helped reduce anxiety, making room for new ideas to come forward. Journaling became my trusted companion in this journey, a place where I could unload my thoughts without judgment or the pressure to be perfect. Writing freely in my journal helped me make sense of my experiences and gave me the courage to embrace vulnerability. The process of sorting through these journal entries eventually led to the formation of my first poetry book, which I like to think of as a meditation made tangible. Creating this collection was not about crafting polished poems but about honoring the raw, authentic parts of myself that surfaced during these moments of reflection. It was freeing to see how each poem connected fragments of my past selves, offering a cohesive narrative while still preserving the emotional truth. I encourage others to explore these practices, especially during times of mental health awareness. Whether you are new to meditation or journaling or have been practicing for years, they can serve as valuable tools to find calm, boost creativity, and cultivate a safe space within yourself. Apps like Apple Fitness+ offer accessible meditation guidance, making it easier for anyone to begin or deepen their practice. Finding peace and expression through mindfulness and writing truly transformed my life, and I hope sharing this experience inspires others to find their own pathways to healing and creativity.
