For anyone that has had a baby, you will understand the pain but this story is for everyone that hasn’t had a baby.
September 22, 2022-
At around 7:30 pm my water broke and I went into labor with my twin baby girls. I was 37 weeks pregnant and I was scheduled for a c-section the very next day so I was both elated and surprised.
On the way to the hospital, which is 35 minutes away from my house, the contractions started to get stronger quickly and after having my first daughter I knew it was going to be an interesting night.
Long story short- they are rolling me back for the c-section and I felt the need to push. No body believed me, including my doctor, and as they sat me up to give me the epidural little Brianna popped her head out and they had to help me deliver her on the c-section table at 10:36 pm.
Cheyenne was breach so they had to do an emergency c-section so they quickly knocked me out and cut me open. Meanwhile, my husband is standing outside of the room listening to the screams and not getting any information.
Moral of the story: Listen to your body and don’t let them tell you that you are crazy. Also… having a vaginal birth and c-section within 10 minutes of each other is not easy.

In scenarios of multiple births, the possibility of unexpected situations arises, as highlighted in this story. It’s common for expectant mothers to experience a range of feelings from excitement to anxiety as their due date approaches. For twin pregnancies, particularly with complications, several decisions have to be made regarding the birth plan, which typically includes considerations for vaginal delivery versus c-section.
The unexpected delivery of one twin prior to surgery can throw a wrench into the planned process, making it crucial for healthcare professionals to remain adaptable to the dynamic nature of childbirth. Communication is vital during this process; patients should feel encouraged to express their needs and bodily sensations. This ensures that medical staff can respond effectively, helping to prioritize the safety and wellbeing of both mother and babies.
Additionally, stories like these can offer solidarity and reassurance to other expectant mothers, demonstrating that they are not alone in experiencing the unpredictability of childbirth. Whether faced with an emergency scenario or navigating the challenges of a planned surgery, each story contributes to a larger narrative about the complexities of motherhood.
