Do you ever feel pressured to stay positive?
“Everything happens for a reason.” You’ve probably heard that before. But sometimes, when life throws something heavy at you, don’t you just want to ask, “Okay, but what’s the reason, why me, and why is it happening now??”
I feel like I can’t catch a break sometimes and it’s exhausting staying so positive. Like I’m hoping for there to be a bigger reason for everything I’m going through.
We live in a culture that pushes toxic positivity, like we always have to smile, stay strong, and look for the silver lining. But what if you don’t feel like being positive? What if what you really need is space to feel, to grieve, or to be frustrated without someone telling you to “look on the bright side”?

Staying positive all the time is draining! Toxic positivity is just as harmful as being negative all the time. It’s healthy to feel upset, angry, etc. and acknowledge when something makes you feel that way.
