pizza cinnamon rolls?
So this started as “what if a cinnamon roll was a pizza”… and somehow turned into this 😂
I used a roll of pizza dough (Pillsbury), added sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, onions, and picked peppers…
Then rolled it up, sliced it like cinnamon rolls, and baked it.
And I’m not even gonna lie—this came out REALLY good.
It’s soft, cheesy, easy to reheat, and perfect for lunch this week.
Sometimes the simple ideas are the best ones.
Would you try this?
If you’re looking for a fun and delicious twist on traditional snacks, pizza cinnamon rolls are a fantastic option to try at home. Starting with a roll of ready-made pizza dough, like Pillsbury, makes the process quick and simple, especially when you want a savory treat without spending too much time baking. The key to these pizza cinnamon rolls is in the layering. Using a flavorful tomato-based sauce, such as a quality pizza sauce, creates a moist base that complements the melted mozzarella cheese perfectly. Adding classic pepperoni brings a spicy, savory kick, while the inclusion of onions and pickled peppers introduces a subtle sweetness and tang, balancing the flavors beautifully. Rolling the dough with the toppings inside and slicing it like cinnamon rolls allows every piece to capture all the delicious ingredients. Baking them until golden and bubbly results in soft, cheesy bites that are easy to reheat and great for meal prepping. They can be enjoyed warm for lunch or as a party appetizer. One tip to elevate the taste even further is to sprinkle some Italian herbs or red pepper flakes on top before baking to add extra aroma and flavor. Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container and reheated in the oven or microwave without losing their softness. Overall, this recipe shows how simple ingredients and a creative approach can turn a familiar concept into an exciting new dish. If you love pizza and cinnamon rolls, combining the two is a must-try that won’t disappoint.
