I remember when Romans 10:17 (NIV) truly clicked for me: 'Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is heard through the word about Christ.' This isn't just about passively listening to a sermon or reading a verse; it's about actively, intentionally hearing God's Word and allowing it to penetrate your heart and mind. For me, discovering how to truly hear God's voice has been a continuous and beautiful journey. So, what does it mean to 'hear' God practically in our busy lives? It's not always an audible voice, which I used to expect. More often, it's through His written Word during a focused Bible study, through moments of prayer where a thought or conviction settles, or even through the wisdom of a trusted spiritual mentor. When I committed to regular *Bible study*, I found my faith wasn't just a concept I believed in; it became a living, breathing, and tangible part of my everyday existence. This active 'listening' helps me grasp the profound good news of forgiveness and everlasting life through Jesus Christ, which fills me with an incredible sense of *hope*. One of the most powerful lessons growing my faith has taught me is the liberating power of *letting go*. Before, I used to cling tightly to worries, fears, and the desperate need to control every aspect of my life. But as I truly began to hear God's voice through His unchanging promises in scripture, I realized I could surrender those heavy burdens to Him. It's like when I read Deuteronomy 10:17 (NIV): 'For the Lord your God is God of gods and Lord of lords, the great God, mighty and awesome, who shows no partiality and accepts no bribes.' Reflecting on the fact that God is *mighty and awesome*, and *shows no partiality*, brings such immense peace. If He is so powerful, just, and loving, why would I continue to hold onto things that are ultimately beyond my control? This realization profoundly impacted my *spiritual growth*. It shifted my focus from my personal problems and anxieties to actively *glorifying Him*. When I make a conscious effort to glorify Him in my daily actions and thoughts, my entire perspective changes. Instead of asking 'why is this happening to me?', I start asking 'how can I use this situation for His glory?' This ongoing journey of *hearing God's voice*, building robust *faith*, and actively letting go has brought me closer to Him than I ever imagined possible. It's a continuous process, but with each step, I feel more grounded, more at peace, and more hopeful. If you're yearning to deepen your own spiritual growth and experience this kind of transformation, I highly encourage you to start by meditating on Romans 10:17. What does 'hearing' truly mean for you personally? How can you intentionally create space in your day to listen for *God's Word*? Whether it’s through dedicated *Bible study*, quiet reflection while journaling on a *devotional page*, or simply spending moments in prayer, these practices can help you build an unshakeable faith and experience the incredible freedom that comes with letting go and embracing God's perfect plan for your life. It's a journey that continuously promises *forgiveness*, renewed *hope*, and a deeper, more intimate connection to our mighty and awesome God.
