How do you deal with the transition period?

💛We received this question from Lemon8 mailbox 📮

💛 “Help! I’m 23, living in my parents basement, recently unemployed and want to get out. I already feel worse about my situation and I plan on going back to school to get a license as a dental assistant. But in the meantime things at my parents house are getting worse and worse by the minute, and immediately want to get my own place. But I don’t have the right amount of money saved to afford a place and don’t have a job. I know I need to get a job and work again and i’m looking but I need help on what I should do or shouldn’t do and if anyone else has been through this.”

💛Any advice or suggestions for this?

... Read moreTransitioning to independence can be daunting, especially for those feeling stuck in their current circumstances. Many young adults find themselves in situations where they wish to break free from their parents' support but lack the necessary resources. It's crucial to focus on immediate steps such as seeking employment, which can provide financial stability and a sense of purpose. Consider part-time work options that can fit your current schedule while you pursue your dental assistant license. Networking and leveraging family connections might lead to job opportunities that align with your skills, ensuring you gain relevant experience. Don't hesitate to ask for help—friends, family, or online forums can offer guidance and moral support. Additionally, explore community resources that provide job training or financial assistance specifically designed for recent graduates or those in transition. Lastly, outline a budget that considers your current expenses and savings goals. While it might take time to secure a new job and save for your own place, setting small, attainable objectives can help you feel more in control of your situation. Remember, many have walked this path before you; sharing your experiences or reaching out to supportive communities can provide comfort and guidance during this challenging time.

I would def start with the job and saving up some money! indeed is the best place in my opinion to apply and look for a job! You can be specific on what you want and many places offer on site training ❤️ from there maybe look into getting a roommate so bills are split 1/2
