Pecan pie inspired cinnamon rolls recipe 🦃

Ingredients:

Dough:

— 2 3/4 cups flour

— 1/4 cup sugar

— 1/2 tsp salt

— 3/4 c milk

— 3 tbs butter

— 2 1/4 tsp yeast

— 1 egg

Filling:

— 5 tbs softened butter

— 1 cup chopped pecans

— 1 tsp cinnamon

— 1/4 cup packed brown sugar

— 1 tsp vanilla

— 3 tbs maple syrup

Glaze:

— 1 cup powdered sugar

— 1 tbs maple syrup

— splash of milk

How-to:

1. Add the milk and butter to a microwave-safe dish and heat up for 30 seconds to a minute until the butter is melted. Stir to combine, and let sit until it’s warm, but not hot. Stir in the yeast and let sit for a few minutes.

2. In a larger bowl, add flour, sugar, salt, and the egg. Add in the milk, butter, and yeast mixture. Stir until combined, and then knead until smooth.

3. Roll out the dough into a rough rectangle, and combine all filling ingredients in a bowl. Spread it evenly over the dough, slice it into strips, and gently roll them into cinnamon rolls.

4. Let rise for 60-90 minutes until doubled in size.

5. Bake for 25 minutes at 375˚ until golden brown. If they’re browning too much, tent with foil.

6. Let cool, top with glaze, and enjoy!
