Hennessy Pecan Cinnamon Rolls 🥐🥃

Ingredients:

For the dough:

4 cups all-purpose flour

¼ cup granulated sugar

2 ¼ teaspoons instant yeast (1 packet)

1 teaspoon salt

½ cup whole milk, warmed

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

2 large eggs

For the filling:

½ cup unsalted butter, softened

1 cup brown sugar, packed

2 tablespoons ground cinnamon

1 cup chopped pecans

For the Hennessy glaze:

2 cups powdered sugar

¼ cup unsalted butter, softened

2 tablespoons Hennessy

2-3 tablespoons milk (or as needed for consistency)

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Directions:

Make the dough:

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, instant yeast, and salt.

In another bowl, mix warm milk, melted butter, and eggs. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until a dough forms.

Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes, until smooth and elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1-2 hours, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the filling:

In a small bowl, mix together softened butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon until well combined. Set aside.

Assemble the cinnamon rolls:

Once the dough has risen, roll it out on a floured surface into a rectangle (about 16x12 inches).

Spread the cinnamon filling evenly over the dough, leaving a small border around the edges. Sprinkle chopped pecans on top of the filling.

Starting from the long side, tightly roll the dough into a log. Cut the log into 12 equal pieces and place them in a greased 9x13 inch baking dish.

Second rise:

Cover the rolls with a kitchen towel and let them rise again for about 30-45 minutes, until puffy.

Bake the cinnamon rolls:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the rolls for 25-30 minutes or until golden brown.

Make the Hennessy glaze:

In a mixing bowl, combine powdered sugar, softened butter, Hennessy, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth and creamy. Adjust the consistency with more milk if needed.

Glaze the cinnamon rolls:

Once the rolls are done baking, drizzle the Hennessy glaze over them while they are still warm. Top with additional pecans if desired.
