I’ve been dying for Gigi’s story and this author didn’t disappoint! This was such a beautiful and tragic love story told in a historical time that truly fascinates me! You can tell H.D. Carlton really did a good job at researching the language of the time and the way they dressed to how the women were portrayed and poor Gigi was definitely ahead of her time I absolutely loved the mob vibes how ruthless and dangerous they were back then , it was so fascinating this was such a well written book it’s riveting storyline was full of drama love and sacrifice I loved the characters their passion and the chemistry between them was amazing. This is definitely a five star masterpiece!

The married woman of the manor. The stranger outside. An intoxicating novel of dark temptation and dangerous desire by the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of the Cat and Mouse Duet.

November 12, 1944. This house holds on to souls for a lifetime. I thought I had given it to my husband when I vowed to love him until the end of time. I lied. Nothing could have prepared me for the day my phantom appeared outside my window. He was terrifying, yet hypnotizing, and I couldn’t deny my intrigue. I never intended to fall into a whirlwind romance with my stalker. Especially because he’s so much more than that. A criminal. A mobster. The man who offers me solace from the monster in Parsons Manor. There are many that haunt these halls, yet it’s only my husband I fear.#book reviews #reviewerofbooks #hdcarltonauthor #arcreader #mustread

... Read moreIn 'Phantom,' H.D. Carlton presents a dual POV narrative that expertly weaves elements of romance and historical fiction, ensuring readers are immersed from the first page. Set against the backdrop of November 12, 1944, the novel explores the tension between love and danger, embodied by a married woman and her mysterious stalker who disrupts her seemingly perfect life. The intricate details of the characters' lives reflect Carlton's commitment to historical accuracy, from the period's dialogue to the fashion of the era, enhancing the authenticity of Gigi's experiences. The author’s ability to create a tension-filled atmosphere alongside deeply passionate relationships showcases her writing prowess. Readers will find themselves enthralled by the emotional depth and the enticing mobster element, making the story both dangerous and intoxicating. Carlton's previous works, such as the 'Cat and Mouse Duet,' have established her as a prominent voice in contemporary romance, and 'Phantom' solidifies her reputation as a master storyteller. For fans of historical romance and those who love intricately developed characters, 'Phantom' promises an unforgettable journey into the heart of love and suspense.
