Things I Thought Were Normal

I had NO IDEA how messed up my relationship with food, movement and body image really was until I hit my rock bottom in November 2024. It was a hell of a wake up call and thankfully I’ve done an immense amount of healing on my wellness journey.

Take this as your reminder that YOU ARE NOT ALONE even at the times when it feels like everyone is judging, commenting, making fun. There are people out there who have been where you are and have made it out and would be more than happy to help you!

Things I Thought Were Normal (but weren’t healthy)
I used to think certain behaviors were just part of life. Being the strong one. The quiet one. The one who overexplained, overgave, and overfunctioned just to feel safe, seen, or loved. But the truth is—some of the things I thought were normal were really just survival mode in disguise. 🛑 Ov

✨Things I thought were normal until…THERAPY✨
I used to think: • Saying “yes” when I wanted to scream “no” was just being polite • Resting meant I was lazy • If someone was upset, I must’ve done something wrong • Being anxious all the time was just a personality trait Then therapy was like: “Girl… that’s trauma with lipstick on.” 💄🫠

adhd symptoms i thought were normal behavior
adhd is something that’s often stigmatized and not taken seriously. all of these symptoms i had before getting diagnosed, and i would get so frustrated thinking these were “normal” behaviors i couldn’t fix/work on. overstimulation: my adhd causes me to feel very overstimulated in certain situat

I didn’t know these were OCD symptoms.
I thought I was just anxious. Dramatic. An overthinker who couldn’t turn her brain off. Turns out there was a name for it. And something that actually helped. Link in bio 🌿 #ocdrecovery #nervoussystemhealing #nervoussystemregulation #nervoussystemhealing #healingjourney

Things I Thought Were Normal (But Weren’t)
For a long time, I thought brain fog, sugar cravings, and emotional ups + downs were just “normal” parts of life — or that I just needed to try harder. But the truth? They were signs my hormones were off. Specifically: cortisol, blood sugar, and nervous system dysregulation. If you: ✔️ Hit

Symptoms I thought were normal but it was PCOS
When I first started healing my hormonal imbalances, I had no idea where to begin. My periods were heavy and painful. I was struggling to focus at work and in school because I was experiencing brain fog and fatigue. I went to different doctors but never got an answer on why this was happeni

A close-up of two hands, one with a small sun tattoo, clasped together on a bed with blankets. Overlay text asks, "DO YOU HAVE A RELATIONSHIP VAULT? KEEP THINGS PRIVATE, DON'T OVERSHARE," introducing the concept of privacy in relationships.
A couple lies in bed, each holding a wrapped burger, with overlay text defining "THE VAULT" as a mental space for private information that stays within the relationship, such as embarrassing stories or personal insecurities.
A vase of pink and white roses, a chocolate cake with raspberries, and a candle are shown. Overlay text explains "WHY IT'S IMPORTANT" to have a relationship vault for setting boundaries and preventing hurt feelings by keeping certain information private.
keeping things private in a relationship 🤫💕
My boyfriend and I have something called our VAULT. It’s not an actual physical vault, but a mental vault! Basically, when we tell each other something is “vaulted” or “goes in the vault,” that means that it does NOT leave the relationship. For example, I have a LOT of vaulted embarrassing stories.
