Why I love having a helper as a mum of 2 in 🇸🇬

2/28 Edited to

... Read moreHaving a helper at home as a mum of two in Singapore has transformed my daily life in countless ways. Beyond just assistance with chores, my helper has become an essential part of our family rhythm. One of the biggest advantages I've experienced is the ability to focus more on my children. Since my helper manages tasks like dishwashing and cleaning, I get to spend quality time playing, teaching, and bonding with my kids without feeling overwhelmed. Especially during pregnancy, having someone who can whip up delicious treats like chiffon cakes in an hour—when it would take me three—feels like a blessing. The clean and organized home environment that my helper maintains provides me with mental clarity and reduces stress tremendously. Fresh sheets, spotless floors, and no piling laundry create a calming atmosphere that positively impacts everyone. Another significant benefit is not having to rely on ageing parents for childcare. This allows my family to avoid conflicts from differing parenting styles and gives my parents the freedom to enjoy their retirement. A helper who sincerely dedicates herself to the family brings peace of mind, knowing my children are well cared for. In my experience, having a helper is not just about delegating work—it’s about reclaiming time and sanity. Taking breaks and having moments to myself or with my husband keeps me balanced and a better parent overall. To all helpers who make these sacrifices, your dedication is deeply appreciated and valued beyond words.

tbh, all helpers have sets back and problem. is how we cope with them. how we absorb their nonsense. one thing for sure I create boundaries that we are the employer. u hear my instruction and you are nt princess of the house. if say vacuum the house by 10 am. u don't vacuum the house at 5 pm. all follow schedule. no negotiation. we set the rules. too bad their working environment is a home. our working environment is office . so we follow office rules.we hear our boss instruction. if nt tomorrow nt need to come to work for us . same like them

These are reasons why I set boundaries and rules with them at first. Is it still worth having a helper in Singapore? Yes, for now. But she's not in my long-term plan. #helper #helpersingapore #helpers #fdw #singapore

My mum rejected every helper…until I told her this
Taking care of kids… Taking care of ageing parents… Trying to stay strong at work… And somehow… still being caught in the middle. I used to think my mum was just being picky… until one incident changed how I saw everything. Sometimes it’s not about finding a better helper… but finding

I didn’t want a helper raising my baby — so we chose infant care
After sharing why we didn’t get a helper (for now)… here’s the other side of the story. Because the truth is — helpers can make a HUGE difference in daily life. Less physical exhaustion. More breathing room. More time for what actually matters. Different families, different setups. There’s n

I left a $150k job to be a stay-home mum. Here's the honest reason why. 🤍
I had the career I'd always wanted. 10 years in tech, a role I'd worked hard for, work that felt meaningful. And I walked away from it to be a stay-home mum. Not because I burned out. Not because I had to. Because I chose to — and I want to share the honest reason why. My husband is a

Hello friends, hope everyone has been well. 2026 has been happening… very happening! Within the first 3 months, so much has happened that i would call it a whirlwind of events, a series of unfortunate events and a tumultuous time. This is not to say that there was nothing to be grateful for

"1 kid still okay, 2 kids & more must get helper!"
Personally we dont like a idea of a "stranger" living tgt with us - we value our privacy + im a picky person so i prefer handling the kids + cooking + chores ourselves! How we manage: 1. Get all kinds of bots to help! Eg, robovacuum, dishwasher (idk why its uncommon in SG, we love it!),

2 kids, no helper, doable?
As a DI2K (dual income, 2 kids) household, we've decided to try and see if we can manage the household chores without a live-in helper and it has actually been very manageable so far! It is all thanks to our smart "helpers" aka appliances to help lighten the load of mundane chores. S
