Healthier gummy options

The starburst ones weren’t to bad and to me the flavors were very mild but the orange bag had more flavor than the pink bag.

OS: 4/10 $4.94

PS:2/10 $4.94

The Alani gummy worms were definitely the worst out of all four options in my opinion. They didn’t have much flavor and they had a weird aftertaste. However the watermelon Alani gummies were by far the best. They weren’t overpowering but they had way more flavor than the other gummies.

Worms: 0/10 $2.99

Watermelon: 7/10 $2.99

Out of all of them the only ones I would buy again is the watermelon ones but I won’t go out of my way to do it.

... Read moreHey sweet tooths! I'm always on the hunt for those elusive 'healthier' snack options that actually taste good, especially when it comes to candy. We all love a good gummy, right? But sometimes you want something that feels a little less guilty. That's what led me down this rabbit hole of trying out different 'better-for-you' gummies, and I definitely have some more thoughts to share, especially about those Starburst Goodies! First off, the Starburst Goodies. I picked up both the 'Original Goodies' (that's the orange bag) and the 'FavREDs Goodies' (the pink one). Visually, they're pretty similar to regular square-shaped gummies, but the texture felt a tad softer, almost melt-in-your-mouth compared to a super chewy traditional gummy. The 'Original Goodies' had a pleasant, mild fruit flavor – I tasted hints of strawberry, cherry, and orange. It wasn't an intense burst of flavor, which I guess is part of their 'goodies' appeal, aiming for something less artificial. For me, they were a nice, subtle sweet treat. Then came the 'FavREDs Goodies' in the pink bag. These promised more vibrant red fruit flavors, and they delivered a bit more punch than the orange bag. I definitely got strong berry notes, like strawberry and raspberry. Again, the flavor profile was still mild compared to a regular Starburst candy, but it was more pronounced than its orange counterpart. If you're a fan of red fruit flavors, these would probably be your pick between the two Starburst options. I appreciate that the images showed the 'nutrition facts' and 'ingredient lists' on the back of these bags, and I always make sure to check those. For 'healthier' gummies, I'm usually looking for less added sugar and perhaps some natural colorings. These definitely lean that way! Now, let's circle back to the Alani gummies. While the Alani Gummy Worms were a bit of a miss for me – not much flavor and that weird aftertaste was a deal-breaker – the Alani Watermelon gummies were a complete game-changer. These were truly delicious! They had a bright, authentic watermelon flavor that wasn't overly sweet or artificial. They had a great chew too. If you're looking for a gummy that delivers on flavor without being overpowering, these are absolutely worth trying. They really stood out as my top pick from this entire taste test! When you're navigating the world of 'healthier' gummies, it's always smart to compare the 'nutrition facts' panel. Look for options with lower sugar content per serving, and check the 'ingredient lists' for more natural ingredients and fewer artificial colors or flavors. Brands are getting really good at making delicious alternatives now! Besides Starburst Goodies and Alani, I've also heard good things about SmartSweets and Project 7. Each brand has its own unique take on what makes a gummy 'better-for-you,' whether it's high fiber, less sugar, or plant-based ingredients. Ultimately, whether you decide to 'EAT or PASS' on these 'healthier' gummy options really comes down to personal preference. If you're expecting the intense, sugary kick of a traditional candy, you might find these a bit understated. But if you're like me, trying to find a satisfying sweet treat with a slightly cleaner profile, options like the Alani Watermelon gummies and even the Starburst Goodies (especially the FavREDs) can be great additions to your snack rotation. Happy snacking!

The Starburst Goodies in the pink bag is good....I think may try the orange bag and the Alani 😊
