3 month milestones 🌸
Raising tiny humans is wild yall. One day they’re drooling on your shoulder, the next they’re demanding a 401(k). 💼🤍✨ #newbornmilestone #parentinghumor #momlife
Okay, fellow parents, let's talk about that magical 3-month mark! It feels like just yesterday they were a tiny bundle, and now they're suddenly doing so many new 'things your 3 month old should be doing by now.' Every day brings a new surprise, and sometimes it feels like they're practically ready to start 'paying her taxes' or 'buying her own outfits' with all the personality they're developing! But seriously, this stage is a huge leap in their development, and it's so exciting to witness. One of the first things you'll notice is their improved physical control. My little one is really 'holding head up' so much better during tummy time now, and it’s amazing to see their neck muscles getting stronger. They're also starting to push up on their elbows and might even kick their legs more vigorously. Some babies might even start to bat at toys hanging above them – it's all about exploring their newfound limb control. This increased strength also means they might enjoy more varied positions, like sitting supported for short periods, giving them a whole new perspective on the world. Beyond the physical, there's a world of social and cognitive growth happening. The biggest joy for me has been seeing them consistently 'smiling + tracking' objects and faces across the room. It’s like they’re finally connecting with the world around them! They're also becoming more vocal, cooing and gurgling, trying to 'talk' back when you speak to them. Recognizing familiar faces and even reacting to your voice are big indicators of their developing awareness. Sometimes, I swear they're already planning their 'makeup tutorials' with how intently they watch everything you do! Their eyes are also much better at focusing and following moving objects. As parents, we play a huge role in helping our little ones reach these 3-month baby milestones. Tummy time is crucial for strengthening those neck and back muscles needed for 'holding head up.' I try to make it fun with colorful toys and talking to them. Engaging them with 'smiling + tracking' games by moving objects slowly helps their eye muscles and focus. Reading to them, even at this age, and having lots of conversations can really boost their language development. Don't forget singing songs and making funny faces – these all contribute to their social and emotional growth. For example, my baby loves watching me fold laundry or try on a 'Babies' Fisherman Cardigan Sweater' – they're soaking it all in! While we celebrate these awesome steps, it’s good to have a general idea of what to expect. If 'things your 3 month old should be doing by now' like consistent head control, reaching for objects, or responding to sounds aren't appearing, it's always okay to chat with your pediatrician. They can offer guidance and reassurance. Every baby develops at their own pace, so don't stress if yours isn't doing everything exactly 'by now' compared to a friend's baby. Mostly, just enjoy these precious moments; they grow up so fast, one day they'll be 'driving herself to work'! Watching your baby hit their 3-month milestones is truly magical and a little bit hilarious. From those first consistent smiles to becoming a little head-holding pro, every tiny achievement is a reason to cheer. Keep cherishing these moments, and remember, you're doing an amazing job, mama/papa!
