my doctor prescribed me Ozempic 👀

I was on Victoza almost 15 years ago, so GLP-1s aren’t totally new to me.. but I also barely remember what helped, and I’m in such a different body/life season now.

PCOS/PMOS, insulin resistance, postpartum changes, knee pain, energy, strength… there are a lot of reasons I’m feeling ready to try this again with medical support.

I know there can be stigma around these meds, but I’m choosing to share honestly because I’d rather learn from real people than quietly overthink it alone.

So GLP-1 friends: what do you wish you knew at the beginning?

Drop your best tips for day one, week one, and month one 🫶🏻

Protein, fibre, nausea, hydration, mindset, things to avoid. I want the real-life advice!

... Read moreHaving started Ozempic myself, I understand the mix of excitement and apprehension that comes with beginning GLP-1 treatment, especially when managing conditions like PCOS and insulin resistance. One key aspect I found helpful from day one is focusing on hydration—keep water nearby as it helps reduce nausea, a common early side effect. Incorporating high-protein and high-fiber foods into your diet also supports satiety and improves digestive comfort, both important in this adjustment phase. During the first week, listen carefully to your body. Some days you might feel low energy or mild stomach upset; reducing portion sizes and eating slowly can ease these symptoms. I learned the hard way to avoid heavy, greasy meals initially, as they aggravated nausea and slowed down progress. Also, maintaining a positive mindset is crucial—remember that adjustments take time, and small setbacks don’t define your overall success. By month one, many users notice improved energy and better glucose regulation. It’s helpful to keep a journal tracking how you feel physically and emotionally, alongside any changes in symptoms like knee pain or postpartum effects that may be related. Connecting with others on the same journey, such as in support groups or forums with hashtags like #glp1 and #ozempic, fosters encouragement and shared advice. Overall, honesty about the challenges and benefits of Ozempic empowers you to make informed decisions. If you’re new to GLP-1s like I was after years since Victoza, lean into these early phases with patience, self-care, and the willingness to learn—not just from doctors but from the real experiences of others navigating the same path.
