It wasn’t just about feeling sleepy; it was about mental clarity and emotional resilience. Research shows that the brain needs 7 to 9 hours of quality sleep for optimal functioning, which includes memory consolidation, emotional regulation, and clearing of metabolic waste. One simple change that helped me was establishing a consistent bedtime routine and avoiding screens at least an hour before sleep. Using smart sleep technology, such as sleep trackers and ambient noise machines, helped me understand my sleep patterns better and create an environment conducive to deeper rest. If you find yourself imagining scenarios or feeling mentally foggy after short nights, I strongly recommend reassessing your sleep habits.
