But here's the kicker: not all protein bars are created equal, especially when you're focusing on a PCOS-friendly diet. Through my own trial and error (and using tools like the 'Fig' app, which is a lifesaver for checking ingredients!), I've learned to scrutinize labels. My golden rules are: Low Added Sugar: This is probably the most important. Many bars hide sugars like cane sugar, rice syrup, or high-fructose corn syrup. The OCR even showed how 'Organic Cinnamon Roll Z Bars' were flagged for these! Look for bars with minimal or no added sugars. Natural sweeteners like stevia or monk fruit can be okay in moderation for some. High Protein & Fiber: Aim for at least 10-15g of protein and a good amount of fiber (3g+) to promote satiety and digestive health.
