I always make sure to use both dark soy sauce for its beautiful color and depth, and light soy sauce for that essential savory umami kick. It makes such a difference compared to just using one! The honey isn't just for sweetness; it helps the glaze caramelize beautifully, giving those bites a lovely sheen and a slightly sticky texture that’s just irresistible. And a little oyster sauce? Oh, that’s my secret weapon for an extra layer of savory richness that ties everything together. When I mix these ingredients with a splash of water, I'm already anticipating that amazing aroma. Getting the tofu perfectly crispy before pouring the sauce is crucial. My tip? Don't skimp on the cornstarch! I generously coat each cut tofu cube, making sure it's evenly covered.
