Standing in the cold taught me this…

“I didn’t realise how much this would mean to me…”

This photo…

was taken in the cold -10 🥶

Standing there… waiting…

hands freezing…

almost wanted to give up and walk away already 😅

But I stayed a while more.

And when the bird finally appeared…

it just sat there quietly…

like it wasn’t in a rush at all.

And I remember thinking…

Wah… thank you ah 😆

Coz last time, I would have just left.

Too cold.

Too long.

Too uncertain.

I would think, “aiya, maybe not meant for me.”

But now… I’m a bit different.

I’m learning to be a bit more patient.

To give things a bit more time.

To not walk away so fast.

Coz some things…

just take longer to show up.

And it doesn’t mean it’s not coming.

Still got moments I feel a bit “ehhh…” 😆

but I don’t spiral like before.

I just pause…

remind myself… okay one… take it easy.

And honestly…

I’m really thankful to God for this kind of calm now.

Last time, I might blame this, blame that…

everything also not right.

Now at least… I know how to slow down,

breathe… and trust a bit more.

Not perfect.

But I’m growing 💛

What about U?

Are U someone who waits… or walks away first?

... Read moreReflecting on my own experiences, I can relate deeply to the feeling of standing in the cold, hands freezing and wondering if it's worth continuing. From my perspective, it’s often in those uncomfortable moments of waiting—be it for an opportunity, a breakthrough, or even just a sign—that we learn the most about ourselves. I've noticed that when I hurry to conclusions or walk away too quickly, I miss out on meaningful developments that take time to reveal themselves. This kind of patience requires a mindset shift: accepting uncertainty without immediately reacting to discomfort or doubt. Like the author’s experience with the bird that came quietly after waiting, sometimes the things we hope for arrive in their own time, not ours. Learning to pause and breathe, especially during moments of hesitation or impatience, has helped me handle life’s unpredictability with more grace. I find that acknowledging my feelings without judgment prevents me from spiraling into negativity. Instead, it offers space for calm and trust to grow, much like the author expresses gratitude for a newfound inner peace. This story reminds me that growth isn’t about perfection but about persistence and gentle self-kindness. Whether waiting for a chance to pursue a dream, healing from a setback, or simply trying to stay grounded during daily stresses, embracing patience has been a powerful tool in my personal development. So, to anyone reading this: if you’re someone who often wants to give up when faced with challenges, consider the possibility that what you seek may just need more time to show up. Staying still and waiting, even when it’s cold or uncomfortable, might just bring the clarity and calm you didn’t expect. Ultimately, the journey towards patience and trust is ongoing, but it’s a journey worth taking for the growth and peace it cultivates.

I’m someone who used to be very impatient, always wanting things to move fast. But life’s challenges have slowly taught me the value of slowing down.

What my mentor taught me about Overcoming Fear
