Homemade Yogurt
Homemade yogurt is the best thing I taught myself to make. ⬇️
Boil 2 cups organic milk for 6 minutes on medium high, stirring constantly to prevent burning or boiling over.
Remove from heat and cover with plastic wrap to prevent the milk from getting a skin. (Thin film on top)
Allow milk to come to room temperature. Usually takes 45 mins to an hour.
Mix in one tbsp of yogurt culture. Mix it very thoroughly!
Cover and place in oven with the light on (oven off) for 8-14 hours. This can also be done in a microwave or on a sunny day, outside. It rains a lot where I live, so I’ve found the oven to be the easiest method.
After 8-14 hours the yogurt is fermented! I recommend refridgerating it for a while before consuming, then add your favorite toppings!
