Mean One” Stuffed Green Cinnamon Rolls Recipe
Soft, bright green cinnamon rolls stuffed with cream cheese frosting, topped with a single red heart — inspired by The Grinch.
🧾 Ingredients
For the Rolls:
1 can Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls
Green gel food coloring (NEON green works best)
1 tbsp melted butter (optional for softness)
For the Filling:
4 oz cream cheese, softened
2 tbsp powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
For the Topping:
Included Pillsbury icing (or more cream cheese icing if you prefer extra)
Red heart sprinkles or candies (1 per roll)
🍴 Instructions
1️⃣ Dye the Dough
Open the cinnamon roll can and separate each roll.
Place each roll on a cutting board or parchment.
Add green food coloring directly onto the dough.
Knead lightly until the dough turns bright, Grinch-green.
Reform back into rolls.
2️⃣ Bake the Rolls
Place rolls into a greased baking dish.
Optional: Brush lightly with melted butter to keep them soft.
Bake at 350°F for 18–20 minutes, or until edges are golden.
3️⃣ Make the Filling
In a bowl, mix together:
Cream cheese
Powdered sugar
Vanilla extract
Whip until smooth.
4️⃣ Stuff the Rolls
Once the rolls cool slightly:
Use a small spoon, piping bag, or Ziplock bag with the tip cut.
Pipe cream cheese filling into the center of each warm roll.
This gives that dramatic stretchy pull when you tear them apart.
5️⃣ Add the Icing
Warm the Pillsbury icing for 5–10 seconds in the microwave.
Pour generously over each roll — let it drip!
Add one single red heart to the center.
