🍋🫶 HYPERMOBILE BENDY BADDIES UNIT✊🏾👊🏾

I never knew there was a name for it. I always thought I was just extra flexible. But after going down a TikTok rabbit hole, I realized—I’m hypermobile.

No joint pain. No diagnosis. Just a body that moves beyond the norm, and I’m learning to own it.

In this video, I’m sharing the signs that made me realize I might be hypermobile, and how this trait shows up in my everyday life. If you’ve ever been called double-jointed, or if your body naturally moves in ways most people can’t relate to, this might resonate with you.

Common signs of hypermobility:

• Joints move beyond the normal range

• Can sit in odd positions without discomfort

• Very flexible without much training

• Strong body awareness and balance

• Often drawn to movement-based practices like dance, yoga, or skating

• May have been called double-jointed

• Naturally able to do things that make others go “Whoa!”

This isn’t about pain or disorder—it’s just how I’m built. And in this space, I’m choosing to celebrate it.

If you relate to anything in this video, drop a comment and let me know how hypermobility shows up in your life.

Don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe for more videos on movement, self-discovery, and empowerment.

... Read moreHypermobility is often mistaken as a condition needing treatment; however, it can simply be a unique aspect of one's physical being. Many individuals who are hypermobile experience no discomfort or pain, allowing them to engage in activities like yoga, dance, or gymnastics with ease. Understanding the signs of hypermobility—such as joints that easily extend beyond the normal range—helps individuals embrace their skills more confidently. Sharing experiences on platforms like TikTok has made communities more aware of hypermobility. People often celebrate their unique bodies instead of viewing them as problematic. It’s important to connect with others who share similar experiences, fostering a supportive environment where one’s body can be celebrated rather than scrutinized. When discussing hypermobility, it is also vital to distinguish it from hypermobility syndromes, which may require medical attention. Emphasizing the joys and advantages of hypermobility can be empowering. If you resonate with this experience, consider engaging with others on social media using hashtags like #Hypermobility and #FlexibilityJourney. This discourse not only raises awareness but also cultivates a community rooted in understanding and appreciation of diverse body types and movement abilities.

I thought I was “tight,” not hypermobile… turns out those things can exist together. Hypermobility doesn’t always look like doing the splits. Sometimes it looks like: • stiff hamstrings • tight hips • a back that never wants to loosen up • muscles that are always tense For hypermobile bod
